“Partnerships like this are important because they allow patients and employers to think differently about healthcare. When organizations collaborate around affordability, physician autonomy, and patient-centered care, it creates opportunities for more personalized and efficient healthcare experiences”

As more Americans explore alternatives to the traditional healthcare system, organizations are creating opportunities to connect and partner. This was the reason Pinnacle Advanced Primary Care and Smith Medical Direct Specialty Care recently hosted the Business After Hours networking event in Littleton,CO on May 13.

The event unites members of the South Metro Denver Chamber for a casual evening where conversations and business cards flow easily among the business community, and professionals leave with a stronger connection to future clients, customers, and partners across sectors.

Hosted at Smith Medical Direct Specialty Care, which offers direct pay specialty and surgical care, on Coal Mine Avenue, the event encouraged networking and increased education in the non-traditional healthcare space.

Zion HealthShare was pleased to attend, representing the nonprofit medical cost-sharing industry, including members of their leadership team Ashton Casper, President, and Preston Guthrie, Sales Director. They shared with others in attendance their alternative medical cost-sharing community, which offers freedom, flexibility on provider choice, and lower costs than health insurance options.

Lisa Fagan, CEO of Smith Medical Direct Specialty Care in Littleton, CO, says both her organization and Zion HealthShare share a mutual goal — “removing unnecessary barriers, creating more transparent pricing, and helping patients access high-quality care without the complexity that often comes with traditional systems.”

She adds, “We believe healthcare works best when patients, physicians, and organizations are aligned around transparency, accessibility, and putting people first. That’s one of the reasons we value our relationship with Zion HealthShare.”

Also in attendance were:

  • Kaufcare: an advanced urgent care with transparent pricing
  • Aislyn Dermatology: a complete dermatologic care practice run by Dr. Aislyn Nelson
  • Columbine Hearing Care: an audiology and hearing aid clinic
  • Platypus Pediatrics: a direct primary care model pediatrics practice that allows for more time with patients, run by Dr. Susie Damon

In addition, each of these chamber events gives back to a chosen featured nonprofit for the evening, which was Symphony of the Rockies.

Each attendee had a clear investment in bringing patient-centered care to the area and removing unnecessary barriers.

“Partnerships like this are important because they allow patients and employers to think differently about healthcare. When organizations collaborate around affordability, physician autonomy, and patient-centered care, it creates opportunities for more personalized and efficient healthcare experiences,” Fagan says, adding that she will remember the event as a “great example of bringing together like-minded leaders who are passionate about building innovative solutions and stronger community relationships.”
