Camila Guerrero brings a distinguished background in healthcare innovation, patient advocacy, and community-centered leadership, further strengthening Zion HealthShare’s commitment to providing affordable, member-focused health cost-sharing solutions.

Camila began her career in a rural health clinic, a nonprofit organization where she advanced through multiple roles and gained extensive experience in healthcare operations, leadership, and strategic planning. After five years working within traditional healthcare, where she witnessed significant regulatory barriers that often hinder patient care, she co-founded an independent Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice aimed at restoring personalized, patient-first care.

Guided by the mission “We Fight for Life!”, she has implemented groundbreaking initiatives, including launching the nation’s first 24/7 mobile urgent care plan within a DPC practice. Her innovative leadership has reshaped access to care within her community and continues to influence best practices across the DPC landscape.

Camila’s relationship with Zion HealthShare is both deeply personal and highly impactful. As a Zion HealthShare member, she went through the pregnancy and birth of her first child through the community, an experience she describes as exceptional compared to traditional insurance options. She has since become a strong advocate, helping dozens of their patients choose Zion HealthShare as part of their healthcare solution.

“Joining the Zion HealthShare Board is an opportunity to support an organization that truly puts people first,” Camila said. “I look forward to contributing to strategic discussions, championing member-focused innovation, and helping Zion HealthShare further its mission within communities that need accessible, sustainable healthcare options.”

Camila earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has also served as an Advisory Board Member for the Nursing Program at Gardner-Webb University, contributing her insights to support the development of future healthcare professionals.

Outside of her professional work, Camila is dedicated to her family. She and her husband spend their time with their two-year-old son and their extended families. She is also actively involved in her community, volunteering in multiple capacities across several community events and nonprofit organizations, both statewide and nationwide. Her passion for service reflects her lifelong commitment to helping others and strengthening community support systems.

As a Zion HealthShare Board Member, Camila will focus on expanding community outreach, enhancing member experience, and leveraging her healthcare and entrepreneurial expertise to advance Zion HealthShare’s mission of providing simple, transparent, and affordable health cost-sharing solutions.
