Healthcare Innovator, Dr. Justin Voris, Join Zion HealthShare Board

As more Americans seek alternatives to health insurance, healthcare organizations are increasingly looking to leaders who understand both the clinical and practical challenges facing patients today to guide and advise them. Zion HealthShare is pleased to welcome Dr. Justin Voris , a board-certified Family Medicine physician and Direct Primary Care advocate, to its Board. His appointment reflects Zion HealthShare’s ongoing commitment to affordable, accessible, and patient-centered healthcare solutions.

Dr. Voris brings more than a decade of experience caring for patients and families at every stage of life. His background provides Zion HealthShare with strategic guidance and first hand insights, as they serve their members, who are continuing to seek greater transparency, flexibility, and community-driven approaches to modern healthcare.

Dr. Voris’ journey reflects many of the concerns shared by healthcare users across the country. After years practicing within the traditional healthcare system, he transitioned to Direct Primary Care (DPC), a model designed to simplify care, strengthen physician-patient relationships, and reduce barriers to access.

During that transition, he explored how health sharing programs could complement DPC and provide families with a practical alternative to conventional insurance.

“Transitioning from a traditional role of employed health care, I sought a way to provide value outside a complicated system,” said Dr. Voris. “Cost was certainly a factor when starting a new DPC business, and I kept reading how well DPC practices pair with health sharing on multiple levels. After thorough research, I found that I aligned most with Zion HealthShare.”

His perspective is shaped not only by professional expertise, but by personal experience. After becoming a Zion HealthShare member, Dr. Voris and his family experienced the sharing community firsthand when an unexpected medical event arose.

“When I needed to use the program for my family after only four months, it worked flawlessly,” he said. “We belong to a national group of like-minded individuals with the simple goal of helping one another.”

Dr. Voris’ understanding of patient needs, healthcare delivery models, and the challenges facing independent physicians can help inform strategic decisions that keep members and their unique healthcare needs firmly at the center of their mission.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Voris has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to leadership and innovation. He is currently serving as President of the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians and has made valuable contributions to various boards and community organizations throughout Arkansas.

As healthcare consumers increasingly prioritize affordability, transparency, and personalized care, experienced leadership will play an important role in shaping the future of healthcare sharing. Dr. Voris’ commitment to doing “the right thing” and his passion for patient-centered innovation align closely with Zion HealthShare’s mission.

Zion HealthShare is honored to welcome Dr. Voris to its Board and looks forward to the leadership and insight he will contribute as the organization continues to serve members nationwide.
